Welland Valley Rotary Charter Evening

Posted on Apr 30, 2013

The Welland Valley Rotary Club had its inaugural Charter Night on Saturday (April 27).

16 founder members of the new club were joined by the Rotary’s district governor and representatives of 11 other clubs to be formally recognized as a new club at the Three Swans.

The first president of the Welland Valley Rotary Club is Gabrielle Belford. She said:

We meet on a Monday morning, so it was great to see everyone at an evening function. Charter Nights for any Rotary Club are important, but an inaugural Charter is really special.

The meeting also saw the presentation of the club’s jewels, the chains worn by president and vice-presidents, and the club bell.

The Welland Valley Rotary Club is a ‘daughter’ club of the Market Harborough Rotary Club and was established with the help with members of the town’s established organization.
